چکیده

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) is a leguminous species widely cultivated in northern and northeastern Brazil. In the state of Pará, this crop still has low productivity due to several factors, such as soil fertility climatic adversity, especially water deficiency. Therefore, present study aimed at evaluating physiological parameters cowpea plants under different depths. The experiment was conducted Castanhal/Pará between 2015 2016. A randomized block design applied with six replications four treatments, represented by replacement 100%, 50%, 25% 0% lost during evapotranspiration (ETc), starting from reproductive stage. rates net photosynthesis (A), stomatal conductance (gs), leaf transpiration (Eleaf), substomatal CO2 concentration (Ci), temperature (Tleaf) potential (Ψw) were determined measurements R5, R7, R8 R9 phenological stages. sensitive availability soil, showing significant difference treatments for variables productivity. Upon reaching Ψw equal −0.88 MPa, studied showed important changes, which allows establishing value threshold regarding stress experimental conditions. levels directly influenced both years, indicating that proper supply leads better growth development, increasing

Diversity among isolates of cowpea severe mosaic virus infecting cowpeas in northeastern Brazil.

Eleven isolates of cowpea severe mosaic virus (CPSMV), a member of the genus Comovirus, were selected from 50 samples collected of nine cowpea fields in Northeastern Brazil (Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, and Distrito Federal) and partially sequenced. The RNA1 partial sequence, corresponding to the helicase, viral genome-linked protein, pic...

Reemergence of Vaccinia Virus during Zoonotic Outbreak, Pará State, Brazil

In 2010, vaccinia virus caused an outbreak of bovine vaccinia that affected dairy cattle and rural workers in Pará State, Brazil. Genetic analyses identified the virus as distinct from BeAn58058 vaccinia virus (identified in 1960s) and from smallpox vaccine virus strains. These findings suggest spread of autochthonous group 1 vaccinia virus in this region.

Modeling of coastal water contamination in Fortaleza (Northeastern Brazil).

An important tool in environmental management projects and studies due to the complexity of environmental systems, environmental modeling makes it possible to integrate many variables and processes, thereby providing a dynamic view of systems. In this study the bacteriological quality of the coastal waters of Fortaleza (a state capital in Northeastern Brazil) was modeled considering multiple co...

Gonad characterization and reproductive cycle of Collisella subrugosa (Orbigny, 1846) (Gastropoda: Acmaeidae) in the northeastern Brazil.

Gonad characteristics and reproductive cycle in the acmaeid Collisella subrugosa from Northeastern Brazil were investigated. The individuals were collected monthly from February 1993 to April 1994 at Farol do Mucuripe Beach, Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. There is no external characteristic on the shell and the soft body structures except the gonad that allows sex differentiation. The gonad of limpe...
